So, as the mother of a first grader, I'm learning all sorts of things about elementary school pop culture. You know what's in? Silly Bands. Yes, they're all the rage. And I have to admit, I'm totally diggin' them too. They remind me of my own days in elementary school- the friendship bracelets, the bangles, the jelly shoes.
These silly bands are exceptionally important, you know. Because EVERYONE is trading them at lunch and recess. Elias is thrilled to come home from school each day and tell me what he traded for what. Yesterday he came home with a dog bone, french fries, and a gorilla. Because it's difficult to describe to my mother just how unique each bracelet is, I decided to take some pictures. Not to mention, I'd not photographed my own son since July. (Not okay.)
So Mom, these are silly bands::
And then, of course, I had to get the rockin' sweet shoes- Converse one-stars with flames? Yes, please.
And while we were outside taking a few pictures, the little Miss was inside, tossing every single one of the Cheerios on her tray onto the floor. Good thing she's so darn cute.

(09.22.10 @ 09:26 PM)So funny. Logan just turned 8 and all he wanted was these Silly Bands. Heck, they're a couple bucks a pack. I wish the others wanted such inexpensive things. We bought him several. It's so fun to see them grow up. Love ya.
