In a way, it's flown by. But in a way, it feels as though she should be turning ten. It's hard for me to remember a year ago, when I didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl, when I didn't know what this little child would look or be like. Yet here she is, Maura- one year old. I love her sweet toothless smile, the curls forming in her hair, I love when she sees me and her face lights up and she says "HI!". I love the little games we play, and how her brother and sister fawn over her. I love her squeals and her beautiful face as she sleeps.
And I loved watching her dive into this cake.
One of the best things about our new neighborhood is all of our great new friends. When we moved in April and discovered that there were three other little girls, all born within two weeks of Maura, I was thrilled. We got together last week for a one-year-photo-shoot. (Who's idea was that, anyway?) ;)
My sweet friend, Kori, made cute little tees for each of them with their initials, and then we let them eat cake.
I love the "outtake" of the day. Makes me laugh just thinking about it!
