I have so many things in my noggin' right now, I don't even know where to begin.
I am a photographer. It's what I do, and it fills me-- the "creative" me-- in a way that nothing else does.
I love photographing life. I hate posing people, I hate cheesy images. I love it when people will be themselves, and let me witness it. It's only THEN that the magic happens. I feel that I give a gift, part of my heart, every time I deliver an order to a client.
Every time I book a wedding or portrait session, I marvel that someone would trust me that much. I don't sell photographs, I document time and memories and emotions and feelings. It occurred to me earlier this summer that I really don't know how my clients feel. I have wonderful friends who are photographers. (Not "just" photographers, but people with extreme talent for what they do.) We trade. We swap. It's easy. It's free. The images are wonderful. And I love shooting my friends' families, and love it when they photograph mine.
But I wanted a different experience. I wanted to know how my clients feel. I wanted to show up, be photographed, and receive a lovely little package in the mail. And I wanted to hire a stranger to photograph us. So, through a friend, I found a couple that I decided to trust. I paid them for their services. Without any hesitation, I can scream from the rooftops that (GOOD) photography is an investment!! And I believe it even more now, as I've paid for it. I hired Roger and Lyndzee (EPLove) because I liked their style... it resonated with my own style. I could envision putting their work on my walls. So I contacted them, and they were kind enough to take me on (weddings are their primary focus). They didn't blink when my big ol' hairy pup jumped out of the car. They were fun and easy and I could tell from the moment we started, I was going to be happy with the results.
Today, I got the results. And I've cried, because I am SO.DARN.HAPPY. These images are priceless to me. PRICELESS! And here, I share them with you.
